Hey there! I had a great time last weekend completing Mat 1 with Amy! I was not a part of the casual conversation about Mat 2 before class started on Sunday but caught the tail in as I signed in. So I just have a quick question. Mat 2 early bird registration should be closing soon and I was hoping to sign up for it. However, we just ended Mat 1 and I'm trying to absorb it all. I feel good about physically getting into each exercise myself and executing it properly, but obviously I do not know the details of the Mat 1 book inside and out yet and have to practice now cueing. From here I will be practicing every single day... but Mat 2 is approaching so quickly. I would like to sign up for it, but If I do not know how to cue Mat 1 yet, but I understand each exercise... would I do okay in Mat 2? I also know apprenticeship is available and I am considering that. Thank so much! - Ashley |

Hi Ashley. Thank you so much for taking Mat 1 - I hope you enjoyed it. I know it's a lot to take in. Yes, the discounted price for Mat 2 ends on Friday. I can tell you that the feeling of being overwhelmed right now is not at all uncommon. In fact - it would be concerning if you didn't feel that way! And yes - you would be absolutely fine taking Mat 2 even feeling how you feel right now. The modules are designed to build on each other - and everyone understands that you are not going to be an expert at everything you learned in Mat 1 in three weeks. Don't feel any stress about it. We're here to support you. And yes - the Online Apprentice program is extremely helpful - but even if you're taking advantage of that - you still wouldn't be expected to have everything from Mat 1 down pat so soon. It all takes time and practice. The fact that your concerned about it means you are absolutely on the right track. I'm sure you've already looked at the info on the Apprentice Program - but here's the link if you need it. Don't hesitate to post with any other questions/concerns! |

Hi Ashley!! I concur with Angelo - the mat exercises build on each other and many of the concepts covered in Mat I will be applicable in Mat II with the addition of inversions and more upper body weight bearing. I think you will be fine if you want to sign up for the course, especially if you have the time and space to keep up your personal practice - for many, the current situation is ideal for diving in to the curriculum when you perhaps have more time on your hands than usual :) |
