Description

In this online Pilates workshop, Jennifer Gianni teaches her concept of how to keep the ever expanding fascial body suit of the pregnant woman hydrated, responsive and integrated throughout the 3 trimesters of pregnancy. Learn how the Deep System and the myo-fascial lines can inform the pregnant body into effective and safe ranges of movement.

Observe Jennifer teaching a 3rd trimester pregnant woman who started Pilates during her pregnancy and with a history of neck, upper and lower back pain. The workshop begins with an explanation about why the focus on the fascia and keeping it healthy during pregnancy is important. Anatomy and movement mechanics of the pregnant body are highlighted so the viewer can get a sense of the why of the exercises that are presented. A warm up as well as many sequences in many different directions while using the Sling and Springs on the Cadillac are explained. These sequences are essential to begin to give the pregnant body the feedback it needs to do flexion, extension, rotation and side bending in the just right amount. We progress onto the Wunda Chair and the Spine Corrector which build on the previous sections. These later exercises are more challenging and use less support.

The information offered in this workshop is also extremely useful for working with overweight clients, clients with back problems, and the elderly.
