Session 34
Assignment

Your Assignment:

Things to Focus On

1.) Practice preparing an introduction. How do you present the theme of your class focusing on the feet and legs? Add your personality, a bit of fun, and some things that will peak your clients’ interest.
2.) Practice, with your clients, the mobilization of the tissue around the bones of the feet and ankles that you learned in the Observation Video. Make sure to direct their attention to the sensations they are feeling. Be sure to ask your clients questions, get feedback, and have your teaching and cueing come from what they are telling you, rather than just the list that you planned.
3.) Give your clients sequences and exercises that help them stabilize the legs and move freely with the spine, and vice versa. Use what you learned in observation and make up your own!

1 Personal Practice Hour:

Think about the Feet, Lower Limbs, and Gait concepts we’ve focused on in the last Observation Video and Session Video, as well as the Things to Focus On above. Do a practice hour with these concepts in mind.

3 Student Teaching Hours:

Now, plan three teaching sessions based on these same concepts. Teach these sessions to a friend or family member. Incorporate some of the verbal and hands-on cueing you’ve seen in the videos. Try to make them your own.

Always treat these Teaching Hours the same as if you were in a studio teaching a paying client.

Don’t forget to log these hours in your Master Log!
