Session 31
Assignment

Your Assignment:

Things to Focus On

1.) Call your client’s attention to the sensation and action of the scapula moving on the ribcage. Have them notice, in different positions, where they initiate movement. From the spine? Or from the shoulder blade? Etc.
2.) Explore in different relationships to gravity (tabletop, sidelying, standing, etc.) how to stabilize and mobilize the scapula in a balanced way.
3.) Use your creativity! Come up with an exercise or a cue to help your client broaden their awareness of their shoulder girdle.

1 Personal Practice Hour:

Think about the Scapular Stability/Mobility and Stretching concepts we’ve focused on in the last Observation Video and Session Video, as well as the Things to Focus On above. Do a practice hour with these concepts in mind.

3 Student Teaching Hours:

Now, plan three teaching sessions based on these same concepts. Teach these sessions to a friend or family member. Incorporate some of the verbal and hands-on cueing you’ve seen in the videos. Try to make them your own.

Always treat these Teaching Hours the same as if you were in a studio teaching a paying client.

Don’t forget to log these hours in your Master Log!
