Session 24
Assignment

Your Assignment:

Things to Focus On

1.) When cueing any type of spinal mobility work, make sure to cue the strength and activation of the opposite side. The stability that is created on the working side is the main indicator on the amount of expansion that will occur on the opposite end.
2.) Always remember to reinforce the work that you do with your clients in the prone position. We live in a flexed forward world, and traveling behind ourselves in seldom done. Be just as meticulous in this part of the work; our clients need it very much.
3.) Stretch out and release the abdominal wall! We rarely do this, but we need it so much. This is a site of way too much gripping and holding, which leads to decreased movement in the spine as well as suffocated viscera. Take some time to open this area up just like the other parts of the body.

1 Personal Practice Hour:

Think about the Ab Strength and Spinal Stability/Mobility concepts we’ve focused on in the last Observation Video and Session Video, as well as the Things to Focus On above. Do a practice hour with these concepts in mind.

2 Student Teaching Hours:

Now, plan two teaching sessions based on these same concepts. Teach these sessions to a friend or family member. Incorporate some of the verbal and hands-on cueing you’ve seen in the videos. Try to make them your own.

Always treat these Teaching Hours the same as if you were in a studio teaching a paying client.

Don’t forget to log these hours in your Master Log!
