Description
Join Jean Sullivan for this online Pilates workshop on how to use Pilates exercises to improve movement patterns typically used by personal trainers in a functional fitness training session. Learn a brief movement screen you can use to assess your client's functional movement patterns. Take a new look at Pilates exercises on the Reformer and Cadillac with an eye for how they can improve your client's functional movement patterns and their personal training sessions at the gym.
Objectives
- Learn a brief Functional Movement Screen you can use with all your clients
- Revisit Reformer and Cadillac exercises with a look at how they improve functional movement patterns
- Learn 4 exercises for each of the Functional Movement patterns that will directly affect your clients performance
- Observe how retesting your client's movement patterns can show you if you're on track or not
Concepts & Techniques
- Use Pilates exercises to help you clients improve their functional fitness training at the gym
- Begin with a Functional Movement Screen to get a baseline of your client's form and movement patterns
- Functional Fitness Training utilizes full body movement with all the major joints of the body
- Break down the components of each movement pattern and clean up the form before progressing
