About This Workshop

In this online Pilates workshop, Jennifer Gianni teaches her concepts for working with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobile clients during and after pregnancy. Learn teaching protocol as well as interpersonal skills and guidelines in working with this very underserved population.

Observe Jennifer working one on one with one of her very own clients with EDS that she has trained before, during, and after the birth of her child.

The workshop begins with an explanation and description of the syndrome. We also go over guidelines and protocol. Then we progress into challenging mat and apparatus exercises created specifically for the EDS pregnant client. The workshop ends with an interview with the client post pregnancy. Labor, delivery and some post-pregnancy EDS protocol are discussed in this conversation.

Concepts & Techniques

  • Hear straight from the EDS client what she feels in her body, what helps, what hinders her and how she likes to be taught.
  • Breathing techniques that help to calm the EDS nervous system.
  • Movement techniques that help with pain management for the EDS client.

Feedback on Pilates, EDS, and Pregnancy

This was very informative and helpful. My daughter has EDS, so I greatly appreciate all the different approaches to helping her be able to move her body to try to alleviate and prevent pain. I would highly recommend it to anyone working with, or who has a loved one with EDS.

Informative for working with EHS clients.

Thank you to both Emily and Jennifer for so generously sharing their experiences and knowledge. Excellent information that I will use with EDS HM clients whether they are pregnant or not.

Great thanks

This seminar is fantastic. As an EDS patient (non-pregnant) as well as an early pilates teacher, Jen's technique, tone of voice and choice of exercises were spot on.

Jessica D

Really enjoyed this. I appreciate the relaxed pace, the introductory interview, and especially loved the arches to pelvic floor work on the ball in session 3. Thank you!

Mary S

One of my favorite workshops I have ever taken. I really appreciate her pacing and delivery of the information. I have EDS and I am glad the information is making it more people.
