About This Workshop

In this fast-paced workshop, Sylvia Byrd-Leitner shares over 70 exercise variations that she has learned and created during her two decades of teaching experience. Some of these variations are meant to add intensity while others are intended to increase body awareness, and they will all challenge your clients to return to the Pilates principles of concentration, control, center, flow, precision, and breathing. The exercises presented in this workshop can be used a-la-carte; pick and choose what works for you and your clients and use them in your workouts where appropriate. Most of these variations utilize the reformer, but there are also options for the mat using small props as well as the springboard/ trapeze table. Some creative variations but a lot of them were very basic

Nancy B

Very nice course. Provided a lot of new ideas and options.

Amanda S

Thank you for offering so many adaptations of exercises, it was great to have new ideas for clients.I think b/c there were so many exercises offered, it felt a bit rushed at times but again if your goals was to give off many variations, you did that well. If you would have offered more cueing we probably wouldn't have got as many exercises in content overall.

Thanks, great material.

Sometimes I get stuck in a rut of teaching the same exercises and need an infusion of creativity. This workshop provided so many great variations to choose from! I like that they can be stand-alone (not meant to be taught as an entire class together) so I can use what works for me and my clients. I'm sure I will go back to this again in the future when I'm in need of some inspiration.

Patrice F

I enjoyed the various moves very much however WISH the PDF followed the class. You spend so much time flipping forward and back through the PDF to find where the heck you are and which exercise she is demonstrating so that you can take useful notes and you completely lose the rhythm and concentration of the class. Sigh.

Sarah J

Fun tools to add to my toolkit. Thank you!

Silvia did an excellent job with cues and pacing. Many of these exercises are perfect for my clients who have a variety of injuries.

Brenda A

Sylvia, you have wonderful, clear cueing. I did not struggle to follow the movements. Standing arm work with loops on the side of the reformer, I would have appreciated your assistant to do both sides in order to see the reciprocating work. Otherwise great variations; some new for myself and others a great reminder of what I haven't been using in my studio. Thank you.

Darlene K

As always, Sylvia is a wonder! Love her teaching.
