Description

This online Pilates workshop provides you with ideas for the first-time client within the senior population. Standards for exercise requirements are revealed with short-term objectives for functional movements necessary in everyday life.

Easy pilates-inspired movements to encourage range of motion, mind-directed active movement, and increased strength are presented using a regular sitting chair and a Smartbell (please note: small hand weights or filled water bottles can be used instead).

Objectives

  • Learn American College of Sports Medicine for Seniors guidelines
  • Learn Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living
  • Watch a client experience the easy exercises with a mental focus
  • Learn Balance exercises using a Smartbell or weight.

  • Mind/body and exercise connection
  • Variations within the same exercise
  • Developed progressions of a single exercise
  • Leg strengthening exercises paired with balance Core and Posture exercises
